Hello,
In the EG915U hardware design guide, it is recommended to use a TVS diode with 0.05 pF capacitance on the RF input. However, I find very few (if any) components that meet this specification. Could someone please:
- Confirm whether the value is indeed 0.05 pF (not 0.5 pF)
- Provide specific TVS diode model suggestions or equivalents
- Share any application notes or reference designs where this is implemented
Thank you for your help!
Hello,
Thank you for the TVS diode suggestions.
I just want to clarify one point: even an 0402 pad itself typically has around 0.3–0.5 pF of parasitic capacitance, so a 0.05 pF TVS diode seems physically unrealistic.
Could you please confirm whether the recommended value is actually 0.05 pF or perhaps 0.5 pF?
And in general, is the goal to use an exact 0.05 pF device, or simply a very low-capacitance RF TVS (around 0.1–0.2 pF)?
Will I get an answer to my question?
Best regards
@hamzaozdemireee The typical value of the capacitor is 0.05 pF, not 0.5 pF.
