EG915N-EU SSL certificate functionality

Hi Quectel Support,

A customer of ours (Carl) has some startup questions about SSL functionality using EG915N-EU. I will request Carl to join this Forum topic as well.
He wants to use SSL functionality with MQTTs , HTTPs etc. but wants to know how to go about obtaining certificates and keys from server origin and having them loaded into the module for SSL communication with server.

It does not make sense that the certificates obtained from the server origin every time must be manually loaded into the module Flash every time , since then every time a connection is made to a different SSL server, then new certificates have to be loaded each time into the module.
This process surely has to be an automated process initiated and handled by the module itself.
Can you please explain how this process works. It is not clear in the Quectel application notes.
Do you have some working examples of this process for us to start with?

Thanks if you can help.
Murray

Hi Murry,
SSL is a function supported by the module, but the certificate needs to be verified by the MQTTs or HTTPs server. The module only uploads the certificate for verification to ensure the legitimacy of the link. It is unreasonable that you need to manually import certificates into multiple servers. As a module device, we provide customers with multiple ways to store certificates in UFS (saved after power off, only need to be imported once) or In the SD card, customers will choose the appropriate method based on the application design logic, thank you.
