Is this still the preferred way to obtain the latest firmware?

If so, I’d like to receive the latest firmware for my EG25-G, which currently runs:
AT+QGMR
EG25GGBR07A08M2G_01.002.01.002

Are all firmwares ‘global’? That is, suitable for all markets and regions?
