EG25-G eCall capable eg. support AT+CECALL?

The EG25-G module are voice and data capable.

Does it support eCall eg. AT+CECALL.
We have a case where this is crucial.

Hi Anders,

Yes, eCall is a supported feature of the EG25-G. It is listed in the module’s feature set alongside DFOTA and DTMF.

On the command itself, two points:

  • AT+CECALL is a standard optional eCall command, so whether a particular module answers it depends on the firmware build.
  • Quectel implements eCall with a Q-prefixed command set: AT+QECALL to establish and release an eCall, AT+QECCFG for the eCall configuration such as eCall mode, dial number type and DSP monitoring, AT+QECMSD to set the MSD data, and the +QECMSDIND URC that reports received MSD data.

The quickest check on your unit takes seconds: send AT+CECALL=? and AT+QECALL=?. If the module returns the parameter list, that command is available on your build. If both return ERROR, the build in use does not expose eCall.

Since eCall availability follows the module variant and the firmware build, please share the exact module part number, the firmware revision reported by ATI, and which network path you intend to use, that is eCall over IMS with VoLTE or CS fallback. With those we can confirm the correct build for your variant.

One further point worth planning for: eCall also depends on the network and the PSAP side supporting the in-band modem and the MSD, so it is not a module-only capability.

Hi AmarRaaj,

Thanks for the clarification.
For our use case we need data/voice and eCall capabilities available in the FW.
Both commands return ERROR on our unit:

AT+CECALL=?
ERROR

AT+QECALL=?
ERROR

Details requested:

Module: EG25-G (mini PCIe)
Firmware (ATI): EG25GGBR07A08M2G
Network path: eCall over IMS with VoLTE

Questions
Which EG25-G firmware build exposes the AT+QECALL / AT+QECCFG / AT+QECMSD command set?
Is there an EG25-G-specific eCall application note, equivalent to the EC25&EC21 one?
We also need AT+QPCMV=1,2 capability in the same FW.

BR.
