EG18 ip passthrough mode

Hello :wave:

I have a Zyxel LTE7490-M904 router with an EG18 modem inside (as a private owner). I’ve considered running openwrt on that device, but I’he heard concerns over the possibilty of using the IP Passthrough mode.

If I switch the device to openwrt, will I loose the availability to enable/disable that mode on the modem ? Do you know what happens when switching to openwrt : is the setting kept as it was saved while using the Zyxel UI or is it reset to default value ?

This depends on whether the module is standard firmware or open firmware. If it is standard firmware, openwrt cannot be used.
