Dear Quectel Support Team,
After updating my EG12-EA modem to firmware versions EG12EAPAR01A14M4G_01.200.01.200 and EG12EAPAR01A15M4G_01.201.01.201, I encountered issues with LTE carrier aggregation — specifically for LTE B3 / B20 bands — using UAE operators DU and Etisalat. Aggregation stopped functioning properly.
To troubleshoot, I downgraded one modem to version EG12EAPAR01A13M4G_01.001.01.001 using the QFlash tool. After that, everything worked as expected — aggregation was restored and connectivity was stable.
Example output from the working modem:
AT+CFUN? → +CFUN: 1
AT+CPIN? → +CPIN: READY
AT+COPS? → +COPS: 0,0,“du”,7
AT+CREG? → +CREG: 2,1,“025C”,“0F54102”,7
AT+CEREG? → +CEREG: 2,1,“025C”,“0F54102”,7
AT+CSQ → +CSQ: 31,99
Unfortunately, while attempting the same downgrade on another modem using qfirehose, I mistakenly used the -e (erase) flag. As a result, the modem now boots into FTM mode (+CFUN:5), and the command AT+QRFTESTMODE=0 returns ERROR.
I suspect that the XQCN partition and possibly other calibration/configuration data were erased.
Please note: the modem is soldered onto a Teltonika RUTX14 board, so ideally I would like to perform the restoration using qfirehose or similar tools without physically detaching the module. However, I can access the USB lines and connect the modem to a PC if necessary.
Could you kindly provide:
- A compatible XQCN file for this modem, as well as any other required or dependent partitions/files (e.g., calibration or configuration data);
- Step-by-step instructions for restoring this data specifically for firmware version
EG12EAPAR01A13M4G_01.001.01.001, which has proven to work reliably with our network operators and is the version we intend to use in production.
Thank you in advance for your support.
