Using EC25-V with QMI, only ‘raw IP’ mode is provided, not 802.3 . For openwrt, this creates issues for the QMI-driver. Does the EC25-AF work in 802.3 mode, also for Verizon, to make an exchange worthwhile ?

The EC25-AF is supported by Vodafone carriers.
