EC25-G randomly uses the ppp interface instead of QMI

Hi

I am using an EC25-G modem on Debian 10 with Linux kernel 4.9. I am using NetworkManager (nmcli) to configure the connection. It generally works (that is I have internet connectivity) using the QMI interface wwan0. However, sometimes, it switches to the ppp interface.

I’m wondering:

  1. Why does it sometimes switch to the ppp interface?
  2. Is there a way to force only the QMI interface?

Any input would be appreciated.

Logically speaking, this should not happen. You can try it with the QFirehose_Linux_Android_V1.4.14 tool. If you don’t have it, please give me your email address and I can send it to you.
