EC25 driver for mac os

Quectel Team,

i’m trying to access my EC25 through via USB on Mac, but no success so far.
Issuing AT commands through screen or minicom do not provide any response.

what is the /dev/ file i should be connecting to?
do i need a special driver to use the mac?

Sorry. Quectel don’t have drivers for MAC OS.

Hi Bean, are there any plans to develop an macOS Network Extension for it?

Using the modem through a virtual machine running Windows or Linux is obviously a workaround but its cumbersome to do.

I think the macOS might support the ECM.
The cusomer could try:

AT+QCFG=“usbnet”

I don’t have MAC OS.

Ah, I totally forgot about ECM mode! (Also I forgot about this thread for a long time somehow)

For future reference to everyone, you can switch to the ECM mode with the following AT command (you do have to use a Windows or Linux host for this):

AT+QCFG="usbnet",1

The module will reconfigure immediately and become an ethernet adapter with a virtual network, which is immediately recognized in macOS:
