Ec25-afx at+cops=? cme error:3

I have:

Quectel
EC25
Revision: EC25AFXGAR07A04M1G

I have tried doing:

AT&F
AT&F0

AT+CREG=2
AT+COPS=2

power cycling, reseating SIM (which works in 2nd EC25-AFX device and phone without issue) and no matter what when I do “AT+COPS=?” it always comes back with: +CME ERROR: 3

Even “AT+CLAC” comes back with an error. So I don’t know what to try. Can anyone help out with some suggestions please? Thanks in advance!

AT
ATI

Are these normal?

Hi,

Yes this is what I get when I do the AT and ATI commands:

AT
OK
ATI
Quectel
EC25
Revision: EC25AFXGAR07A04M1G

OK

Yes I read that also about the “Operation not allowed” however it doesn’t make sense to me because I am unaware of any restrictions or even how that would be restricted. Which is why I tried the “AT&F” in hopes that if there was a restriction for some reason it would be gone with the factory defaults loaded.

Please let me know anything else I can attempt, thank you.

pls run

AT+CPIN?
AT+COPS?
AT+COPS=0
AT+COPS=?

Here is the output of those commands:

OK
AT+CPIN?
+CPIN: READY

OK
AT+COPS?
+COPS: 0,0,“HOME”,7

OK
AT+COPS=0
OK
AT+COPS=?
+CME ERROR: 3

Perhaps there is no list of PLMN stored in the SIM card.

How could I check that? I have another EC25-AFX that’s working fine. Would there be something I can do to compare that to this and then save it if that’s what it needs?

Please exchange SIM cards with each other and try.

However this same exact SIM card works in the other EC25-AFX I mentioned. If that is helpful to troubleshoot.

Since the SIM works in everything else.. Is there anything else I can try? Is there any diagnostic I can run? For some reason I think I may have a bad solder but, not sure.

Is the firmware version the same?

Yes exactly the same. Would it be worthwhile to attempt a re-flash? Maybe it couldn’t hurt?

You can try to reflash the firmware.
