After the modem switches from LTE to HSPA in areas of low signal it fails to automatically return to LTE when returned to an area where the signal strength is good.

Normally, if the LTE signal is good enough, and meet the switch condition, it will switch back to LTE network. So it is better to whether the WCDMA signal is also good enough.
