EC21-A After ATDXXX; I am not getting the CONNECT URC when call is picked up

Using QCom with a EC21-A.

After using ATD xxx; to dial a number, I am expecting the URC message “CONNECT” when the call is answered.

What would explain this?

Just as you have said that you want to make a data call, not voice call, am i right?

If that, it is better to provide the firmware you used, then we need to double check whether it can support such function. Thanks!
By the way, if you want to test such function, the SIM card you used must support such function. Thanks!

Opps, I was making a voice call, not a data call.
I will use AT+CLCC to get the state of the voice call.
