EC200U Module Restarting Continuously with BSNL SIM (Stable with Airtel/Jio)

We are facing a continuous restart / instability issue with the Quectel EC200U module when using a BSNL SIM card.

The same hardware and firmware work perfectly with Airtel and Reliance Jio SIMs, but with BSNL SIM, the module shows unstable behavior including network attach failures and occasional restarts.

For your reference, I’m attaching my device FW details

Dear Customer

I suggest you use Power.powerOnReason to check the cause.

Please refer to the link below for usage instructions.

Dear Team,

Thank you for the response.

When I insert the SIM, the module reboots immediately and does not even wait long enough to connect to the REPL to check the reason. The behavior is the same as when using the AT port.

Also, when I remove the SIM, the module remains stable without any reboot issues.

The issue is likely due to unstable power supply. The module draws higher current during network registration upon SIM insertion, leading to reboot if power cannot sustain the peak load.

Thanks for the update.
Understood. Currently, I’m powering the device through USB. Let me try the same setup using a regulated power supply from an SMPS and check whether the issue persists.
