In Quectel SMTP Manual for EC200U, It was mentioned that SMTP is optional for EC200U-CN variant.
Is there any other way to use SMTP on EC200U-CN or need to switch to other modem ?

I have updated the firmware, and AT+QGMR now shows EC200UCNAAR03A17M08. However, I still get +CME ERROR: 58 when running any SMTP command.

+CME ERROR: 58 returned on AT+QSMTPCFG=? indicates that a native SMTP AT command client is not available on the EC200U-CN-AA firmware. We have verified this against the AT Commands Manual (ECx00x Series AT Commands Manual V1.4) — there are no AT+QSMTP* commands documented for this module family. The EC200U-CN-AA Firmware Release Notes (Function List, Section 4) also confirm that SMTP is not listed as a supported protocol feature across any firmware version, including the latest EC200UCNAAR03A17M08.
To send emails over the cellular connection using this module, the following approaches are supported and fully documented:
Option 1 — TCP/SSL Socket (manual SMTP implementation) Using AT+QIOPEN and AT+QISEND (documented in the EC200x Series TCP/IP Application Note), open a TCP or TCP SSL connection to your SMTP server on port 465 or 587, then implement the SMTP dialogue (EHLO, AUTH LOGIN, MAIL FROM, RCPT TO, DATA) directly from the host MCU. SSL configuration is handled via AT+QSSLCFG per the SSL Application Note.
Option 2 — HTTPS-based email relay API Use a transactional email service such as SendGrid or Mailgun which expose a REST API over HTTPS. This is fully supported via AT+QHTTPCFG and AT+QHTTPPOST as documented in the ECx00x Series HTTP(S) Application Note, and requires no manual SMTP protocol implementation on the host.
