The standard AT+CNUM command returns an error:

at+cnum
+CME ERROR: 4

This error means “Operation not supported”, but why is that?

I was able to store the “Own Number” with AT+CPBS and AT+CPBW and read it with AT+CPBR

Just a thought in the absence of other feedback. Have you tried AT+CNUM with each of the possible phonebook scopes - global and local?

Are you referring to AT$QCPBMPREF? ?This modem is not based on Qualcomm, so that command does not work here.
