for our project, we are using the EC200S 2G/4G modem. For future-safety, our actual hardware configuration uses a SIM-Multiplexer, to be able to connect a standard SIM or eSIM with the modem.
The eSIM we are using is an STM eSIM (MPN ST4SI2M0020TPIFW). We have never used an eSIM before, and we are wondering, if the EC200S will work together with this eSIM (assuming that it is supported by the provider)
We have the full control over this modem, and configure it with appropriate AT commands to register at the network, trigger iperf for performance tests etc. Is it required for the eSIM support to configure the eSIM with the appropriate profiles via dedicated AT commands? Or is this done completely by the modem itself?
can you please point me to some documentation on how to use and to configure eSIM?
As mentioned, our application is some custom device, which is fully controlled from our side via AT commands. We also use the CDC ethernet connection.
I saw you were working on integrating the STM ST4SI2M0020TPIFW eSIM with the EC200S module back in October 2023—and the module indeed confirms hardware support for eSIM.
Have you since managed to get the eSIM profiles provisioned and working over AT commands?
Did you need to manually provision eSIM profiles via AT commands?
Or did the EC200S automatically manage the profile download and activation once the network supported it?
It’d be great if you could share any steps or AT command sequences that worked for your setup—especially if you had to combine profile loading with your CDC Ethernet configuration.
Thanks in advance, and hope your project is going well!
