Connecting to UART on UMTS&LTE EVB

I would like to connect our MCU board to the serial port on the UMTS&LTE EVB for development purposes. It appears that setting SW 901 to the BT position disables the UART connection to the RS-232 port.

Does SW901 disable the RS232 driver or does this disable the 3.0/1.8v voltage translator as well?
I would like to connect my UART signals to J806, should I use the 1.8v levels or 3.0v levels?
