Can Em05 make a VoLTE call?

I have Em05 embedded in a laptop however the codec microphone and headphones are not connected. Only the data connection is available.
My question is can I make VoLTE calls from the laptop assuming the carrier allows it? Are the voice data from VoLTE transmitted through the embedded codec in the module or on the normal data channel?
