BG770A-SN documentation

Hello,
is there any documentation available for BG770A-SN? Engineering samples are already available (as part of TE-B kit), but the NTN part is not documented yet. I was able to follow some advices to get the module to connect to Skylo.
Is firmware BG770ASNAAR02A01_01.202.01.202 the latest?

yes,it is latest version for BG770ASA

You will need to refer to the BG770A and NTN related documentation

Can you please elaborate? BG770A-GL documentation does not cover commands like AT+QCFG="ntn/ev" and I wasn’t able to find anything related to NTN support in SN version of the module. Nor anything for BG95-S5. And CC660D-LS is using different set of commands.

I have sent the doc to you,pls check

Thank you. One additional question - what should be the access technology number used in CEREG and COPS messages for NTN NBIoT? Is it 9 or 14?
BG770A-SN uses 9, but BG95-S5 seems to report 14.

I think this has something to do with the network that the module is connected to

Both modules were connected to Skylo. Just each of them reports in differently. BG770A-SN does not even allow 14 in AT+COPS command to be specified. Same for CC660D-LS, it reports Skylo as 9. It seems that only BG95-S5 is using 14.

Yes, according to your description, it may be caused by the current inconsistency of the software version inside the module, and it will definitely be repaired in the future

@herbert.pan-Q I’m also evaluating the BG770A-SN for an NTN product, could you send me the detailed documentation as well? Thanks!

The current documentation is very few and you may still have to wait a while

Another evaluator of the BG770A-SN for GEO-NB comms here. Could I also request the latest documentation please. Many thanks!

In which aspect would you like to learn about

@Jonathan.wang, thanks for replying.

I’ve been following Monogoto’s instructions for use with Skylo, and have managed to get to the point where their portal shows the modem connected. They give various commands to copy/paste, some of which I can understand, like the 0x07 in at+qcfg="band",0x0,0x0,0x0,0x7 toggling the 3 bands they list, though not which is which.

Querying the modem got me a list of identifiers for use with +QCFG="ntn/ev" but I don’t know what the details are or how to interpret. They also recommend polling AT%MEAS="8" to get some signal measurements, which are somewhat useful, but description of what other measurements would be possible would help more.

They clearly wrote these instructions based on either some unreleased/NDA documentation, or experiments using knowledge from other modems, but they only really give enough to get to a go/no-go state and ping through. Bringing up an actual product based on the module and getting it ready to field deploy would be much easier working from a more detailed document.

I’ve been working from BG95&BG77_AT_Commands_Manual_V1.0 dated 2019-08-31 which doesn’t seem to contain any NTN-related or AT%MEAS. I’m hoping you can link or provide a more up-to-date document, even a draft, which would help with NTN evaluation.

I would like to have information about the AT commands in NTN mode and if you have information about the messages returned by the chip, as I have seen messages such as

RDY, +CFUN: 1, +CPIN: READY, +QUSIM: 1, +QIND: SMS DONE, APP RDY but I don’t know in which cases I have to wait for this string before sending more AT commands.
