Application of multiple PDP context

Hi
I am using EG25 module.

I want to understand the practical application usage of having more than one PDP context.

It will be helpful if explained with the real life application use case for better understanding .

As per AT command manual possible values are 1 to 16 . So can we have 16 different PDP context simultaneously ?

hi,
Theoretically speaking, 16 pdps can be set, but in reality, the software and hardware, and the wireless environment may not be able to bring 16 pdps.

Thanks @AnnaLiu for your reply .
Could you please explain the practical / application example of having more than one PDP context simultaneously ? What benefit we will get with more than one PDP context ?
Real life application example along with explanation will help

Thanks

hi,
Having more than one Packet Data Protocol (PDP) context simultaneously in a mobile network allows for multiple concurrent data connections on a single device. Each PDP context represents a separate data session with its own IP address, allowing for enhanced functionality and flexibility. Here’s a real-life application example to illustrate the benefits:

Imagine you have a smartphone that supports dual SIM cards. With multiple PDP contexts, you can have two separate data connections active at the same time, each associated with a different SIM card. This enables you to use two different mobile data plans simultaneously, providing benefits such as:

Load Balancing: You can distribute your data traffic across multiple networks, optimizing performance and ensuring a more stable and reliable connection. For example, you can use one PDP context for browsing the web and another for streaming video, effectively dividing the load between the two connections.
If you want to know more about pdp, you can check it on the 3Gpp official website, thank you.
