Anomaly in measured output current when BG96 is put in minimum function mode (AT+CFUN=0)

Hi team,

We are currently using BG96MC-128-SGNS as our LPWA cellular module. We were exploring the various power saving modes possible on the module and we came across the minimum functionality mode AT+CFUN=0. According to the module’s Hardware Specifications document, the input current measured while module is in minimum functionality mode is 0.8mA, but during our checks, we are seeing it to be 40mA, which is a drastic increase from the desired input current.
What could be the possible reason for our system to draw this high value of current?

Hi team,

Kindly could you revert back to me regarding this query ASAP?

The power consumption in the hardware manual is only for the bare module, please confirm whether it is due to other peripherals
You can also use PSM mode, which can further reduce power consumption
