Accidental Secure Boot activation on EG915U-EU (QuecPython) - Need recovery options

Hi,

I accidentally activated Secure Boot on my Quectel EG915U-EU module while working with QuecPython.

Since this was unintended, I did not save or properly configure the OEM public keys/certificates before the fuses were blown. As a result, I am currently locked out and unable to flash new firmware or run my QuecPython scripts normally.

I understand that Secure Boot is a hardware-level feature and usually irreversible. However, since this is a development stage, I would like to know:

  1. Is there any official recovery firmware or fallback method for the EG915U to reset or bypass this state?
  2. If recovery is not possible, what are the standard steps to sign a minimal QuecPython image using the default keys (if available) just to regain basic access to the module?

Any guidance, documentation, or tools related to the EG915U Secure Boot recovery/signing process would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

Just following up on my previous post in case anyone has any experience with this issue.

Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction regarding Secure Boot recovery or firmware signing on the Quectel EG915U-EU?

Any advice, documentation, or even confirmation that there is no recovery method available would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
