Hi,

is it possible to configure one of your 5G modules with M2 interface in a way that it transmits only the positioning reference signal (“PRS”) once or periodically?

Hi,

thanks for your reply. DL-PRS and UL-SRS signals were introduced in 3GPP Release 15 and further improved in 5G NR. They can be used to measure distance between BS and UE - either to improve the GNSS position or for scenarios where satellites are not visible (indoors etc.). See e.g. https://arxiv.org/pdf/2102.03361 or https://www.ericsson.com/en/blog/2020/12/5g-positioning--what-you-need-to-know. Is it possible to transmit custom signals with your 5G modems?
