5G Ethernet PDU type

Hi,
Which modem models support 5G Ethernet PDU type? European or Global regions

Thank you!

Dear @alvin1973
Which module do you want to know?
Please share, then I can double check.

Dear Quectel Support Team,

I am testing a Quectel RM520N-GL installed in a BEC MX-100U modem with a private 5G Standalone network. I need the UE to establish a native Ethernet-type PDU session, not an ordinary IPv4/IPv6 session presented through USB ECM, MBIM, RNDIS, NAT, or IP passthrough.

Current module information:

Model: Quectel RM520N-GL
Current firmware: RM520NGLAAR01A05M4G
Host product: BEC MX-100U
Host interface: USB 3.0

The current firmware does not appear to support Ethernet PDU sessions:

  • AT+CGDCONT=? lists only IP, PPP, IPV6, and IPV4V6.
  • AT+QMAP=? does not list ETH_PDU.
  • AT+QNWCFG=? does not list eth_cfg.
  • AT+QETH=? provides physical Ethernet/RGMII options, but no native Ethernet-PDU configuration.

I found references on the Quectel support forum to firmware RM520NGLAAR05A01M4G_01.300.01.300, which appears to expose:

  • AT+QMAP="ETH_PDU"
  • AT+QNWCFG="eth_cfg"
  • AT+QWDSCFG Ethernet-profile configuration

Could you please:

  1. Confirm whether the RM520N-GL supports native 5G SA Ethernet PDU sessions.
  2. Provide an appropriate firmware package supporting Ethernet PDU sessions that is compatible with my module and its integration in the BEC MX-100U.
  3. Confirm whether Ethernet-PDU Layer-2 frames can be exposed through the module’s USB interface, without an external RTL8125 PCIe Ethernet controller.
  4. Provide the required AT-command sequence and any Ethernet PDU/5G LAN application note.
  5. Provide the approved Windows firmware-upgrade tool, installation procedure, prerequisites, rollback procedure, and release notes.
  6. Confirm whether a direct upgrade from RM520NGLAAR01A05M4G to the recommended firmware is supported and whether the upgrade preserves RF calibration, IMEI, MBN profiles, and OEM configuration.

My private 5G core will provide an Ethernet DNN and Ethernet-capable SMF, UPF, PFCP rules, and N6 Layer-2 connectivity.

I can provide the module’s complete part number, serial number, IMEI, AT-command logs, and photographs of the module label privately if required.

Thank you,

Dear @zkeles
Sorry,your firmware doesn’t support 5G LAN.
For R05 baseline supports it, but I don’t have permission to release, please contact with your supplier to get it.
