What is the purpose of AT+QCFG="roamservice"?

Is roaming not controlled by the SIM card provider? I am using a BG96 module in the USA, but there is potential that the module might get used in Canada or Mexico. If that is the case, should I use AT+QCFG=“roamservice”,2?

Thanks,

I am using the BG96 in Canada and Mexico with our Global SIMs. I am using AT+QCFG=“roamservice”,2

Dear Darren,
The BG96 roamservice is always active.
Using the command AT+QCFG=”roamservice” will not affect the operation at all.
According to 3GPP, roam feature is enable by default, the module can’t disable roam service.
