Hi Quectel Community,
We’re working with the Quectel EC25-AUX (Australian AU model) modules in our routers, which run OpenWRT, and their own SIP Connection. We’re exploring the possibility of using eSIM (specifically with Telnyx) instead of physical SIM cards. The idea is to enable bulk provisioning for these routers without having to open the box—much more efficient for our use case.
I’ve got a few questions and would love your input:
-
Firmware Compatibility:
Does anyone know the minimum firmware version required on the EC25-AUX AU model to support eSIM, particularly for managing profiles via AT+QESIM commands? -
eSIM Profile Setup:
Are there any specific steps or AT commands we need to follow to set up Telnyx eSIM profiles? If you’ve done this before, any tips would be great! (They just provide their SM-DP+ Address and Matching ID). -
Challenges or Considerations:
Have you encountered any issues using eSIM with the EC25-AUX (Specifically the Australian model)?
Any advice, experiences, or resources would be super helpful. We’re pretty excited about moving away from physical SIMs for the efficiency boost, but we want to make sure we’re going about it the right way.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
