SIM detection won't work on EP06-E and EC25-E

SIM detection works on RM520N-GL connected to M.2 B-key slot.

echo -ne 'AT+QSIMDET=1,0\r' > /dev/ttyUSB7
echo -ne 'AT+QSIMSTAT=1\r' > /dev/ttyUSB7
echo -ne 'AT+CFUN=1,1\r' > /dev/ttyUSB7

We couldn’t make it work on EP06-E and EC25-E. We have tried it on multiple EP06-E and EC25-E modems. The behaviour is, after the modem is reset, it will always report SIM card missing.

We use a Banana Pi BPI-R4 board and the SIM card detection pins on the mPCIe and M.2 B-key slots are wired.

Please advise if it’s EP06-E and EC25-E that don’t support SIM card detection. If that’s the case, please let us know of LTE-A modems with mPCIe form factor that do support it.

Hi @arinc9
Please try using a different SIM card again.

@Hayes, the same SIM card works with RM520N-GL.

Hi @arinc9
May I ask about your SIM card operator? And please provide the IMSI.
Or, you can try the following command
AT+QNVFW=“/nv/item_files/modem/mmode/ue_usage_setting”,01

No thanks to Quectel support, after investigating the hardware design document for EP06, we’ve realised that EP06 does not include a SIM card detection pin. EC25 does have it and we made it work. And there is no Quectel LTE-A modem with mPCIe form factor that includes a detection pin at the moment.

is there any workaround to make work an ep06-e module into a m.2 to minipcie adaptor? sim missing error in present
