Signal Issue – Request for Assistance

Dear TM Customer Support,

Good day. My SIM has been stuck on “E” (2G) signal for several days. I cannot make/receive calls, send texts, or use mobile data.

Details:

  • Location: Pier 3, Cebu City
  • Phone: Honor X9c 5G
  • Tried: Restarted phone, tested SIM in another device, set network to 4G/5G

This SIM is linked to important government accounts (e.g., MARINA), so it is urgent that I maintain access. Kindly check if there are network issues in my area or advise if I should proceed with SIM replacement while keeping the same number.

Thank you for your prompt assistance.

Warm regards,
Valmores, Divine

hi,

May I ask if placing a SIM card in a mobile phone can enable registration for 4G and 5G networks?

Thanks

Yes, inserting a SIM card is necessary for your phone to register on 4G or 5G networks, but it’s not the only factor. Your phone must also support 4G/5G bands, and the SIM card itself needs to be provisioned by your carrier for those services. In some cases, an old SIM may only support 3G, so you might need to get a newer one from your carrier to access 4G or 5G.
