Me and my colleague Alexander are looking to evaluate and compare NB-IoT and LTE-M (LTE CAT-M1) in terms of energy efficiency for our thesis. To gather information about this we contacted a professor working at our university (Karlstad University) here in Sweden. He recommended us to take a look at your products, more specifically to buy the LTEOPENEVB-KIT and the BG96 module. We are yet to receive the sim card for LTE connectivity, but in the meantime we wish to find out if everything is working as expected.
The problem we are facing is we are unsure if our configuration of the EVB board is right (see attached image of EVB), or if there might be a firmware upgrade necessary. We followed the user guide to the best of our abilities to configure and set everything up. Using QCOM 1.6 we were able to get this message “[2025-03-20_13:49:41:262] Open COM Port Success” after pressing the “Open Port” button. We have been able to get this message through many of the different connectivity methods such as, COM (UART1), COM (MAIN) and the micro-usb port. When we send a command such as “ATI” to the board, we get no response. We have tried sending commands through both the command list and the operation section without sucess (see attached QCOM image).
