I have used RM530N-GL module and firmware virson is RM530NGLAAR05A01M4G when i run AT commond
AT+QSCAN=3,1 in first time give output then run next time got ok

Hi Shafique,

This behavior is expected.

AT+QSCAN=3,1 works best when the module is idle (not registered to a network).
After power-up or PC restart, the module quickly registers to the network, so subsequent QSCAN commands may return only OK without data.

Why it works after AT+CFUN=1,1 or AT+QPOWD=1:

-These are controlled resets that properly detach the module from the network.
-After that, the module is idle again, so QSCAN returns results every time.

Why it fails after unplugging / PC restart:

-This is a hard power cycle.
-The module immediately re-registers to the network, so RF resources are busy and QSCAN does not perform a new scan.

Recommendations:

-Run AT+QSCAN=3,1 without a SIM card (recommended).
-If SIM is inserted, make sure the module is not registered (AT+COPS?) before scanning.
-Wait longer (e.g. 60 seconds) between scans.
-Use AT+QENG=“servingcell” to check signal when already registered.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day!

Best Regards,
Ananthan

AT+QSCAN=3,1 give one time data then got ok no data why?

Hi Shafique,

The behavior you are seeing is expected behavior and is related to the module’s radio (RF) state.

The first time you run AT+QSCAN=3,1, the module is idle, so it performs a full RF scan and returns LTE/NR5G results.

After that, your log shows:

+QENG: “servingcell”,“LIMSRV”,“NR5G-SA”,…

LIMSRV means the module is camping on a cell (synchronized to a specific frequency), even if not fully registered yet. Once the module is camping or registered, the RF is locked to the serving cell. To maintain this radio link, the firmware does not start a new background scan, so AT+QSCAN returns OK without data.

For this reason, Quectel recommends using AT+QSCAN without a SIM card.

AT+QSCAN is an intensive RF operation. Sending it again within a few seconds does not allow the RF engine to return to an idle state, so the scan is skipped.

My suggestion is that If a SIM must be used:

Force idle state before scanning:

AT+CFUN=0
wait 10–15 seconds
AT+CFUN=1

Wait at least 60 seconds between scan commands

When already camping or registered, use:

AT+QENG=“servingcell”
AT+QRSRP?, AT+QSINR?

Thanks!
Have a great day!

Ananthan
