RM520N-EU modem no satellites

Hello, we started some tests with the RM520N-GL modem with the YEMN016AA antenna and we have a GNSS fix and 5G connection.
Now, when running the same exact procedure and tests with a RM520N-EU (revision RM520NEUDAR03A07M4G
) and the same antenna (from ANT0 to ANT4), it does not see any satellites.

Can you help us? Do we need to specifically activate something not activated with the GL version? Galileo GNSS, L5 band, etc?

Dear @niwuniwak
For RM520NEU, GNSS is ANT4, please check your antennas.

I checked the antennas, they are indeed plugged like your specs, with the GNSS wire of the antenna on ANT4. But not satellite visible, no GPS time, no fix. I wonder if we have the right firmware or if there is an additional AT command to use this modem.

Dear @niwuniwak
Please share a picture of your RM520N-EU.

Here are the pictures of the modem, in the M.2 to USB interface.

Dear @niwuniwak
It is strange, do you test in open sky?

Yes, the antenna is out of the window, with the top facing the sky. With the same antenna and the RM520N-GL modem we have the satellites, but not with the RM520N-EU one. I wonder if we have the right firmware or if there is an additional AT command to use this modem.

Dear @niwuniwak
Could you share the specification of GNSS antenna?

The antenna is the YEMN016AA from Quectel : https://www.quectel.com/content/uploads/2024/03/Quectel_Combo_Antenna_YEMN016AA_Datasheet_V1.7.pdf

Dear @niwuniwak
As checked internally, this antenna is active, but for EU, it should use passive antenna.

All right, thank you. Do you have references of 5-in-1 antennae with passive GNSS from Quectel that will work for EU?

In the end, what will be the best performance for me?

  1. RM520N-GL modem with 4-in-1 Quectel antenna
  2. RM520N-EU modem with 5-in-1 Quectel antenna

Dear @niwuniwak
Actually, for GL and EU, they are working with passive antenna, but GL has global band, so it can search GNSS signal.
Currently, we don’t have 5-in-1 support passive antenna.
If want to use passive antenna, you can use a single passive antenna of GNSS.
