Hi, I am using a Quectel RG500Q_EA. I wanted to reset the modem, so I used the command AT+QCFG=“ResetFactory”. After that, the modem does not work the same as before.
I am using the QMI protocol. After resetting, I set a few commands
AT+QNWPREFCFG=“mode_pref”,AUTO
AT+QCFG=“usbnet”,0 (because I use QMI)
AT+QCFG=“data_interface”,0,0
But the modem still doesn’t behave like before. Previously, it worked perfectly. Now it also works, but it takes a long time to get internet and connect. Biggest problem is, I have to redial few times the modem using QMI to get it working.
Is there any way to restore the modem to its previous state? Any guide to fix this?
Dear @ChmodX
You didn’t backup before reset, so how to restore.
For backup and restore, it only have QCN and CEFS, not configuration, it can’t help you.
Unfortunately, I didn’t think something like this would happen, so I didn’t make a backup. But I have another module, so I can get a backup from that and restore it.
My modem works, but with some delays. So this shouldn’t be a serious problem, right?
What kind of configuration do I lose after a factory reset (except the ones I mentioned earlier in this post)?
Are there any hidden configurations I lose?that the user cannot set? Maybe flashing the latest modem firmware using QFirehose will fix this?
Dear @ChmodX
The main recovery involves the CEFS partition, Rawdata partition, and Usrdata partition.
Flash firmware can‘t’ restore this.
Backup only have QCN and CEFS, I am not sure whether it can restore expect Rawdata partition, and Usrdata partition.
