RG255C-GL Firmware Upgrade Issue

Dear Support Team,

I am currently working with the RG255C-GL 5G RedCap modem. Below is the module information:

ATI
Quectel
RG255C-GL
Revision: RG255CGLABR01A04M4G

I attempted to upgrade the firmware to the new version:

RG255CGLABR01A05M4G

The upgrade process was completed and showed:

“Upgrade module successfully.”

However, after the reset, I began experiencing USB enumeration issues. The following errors appear in the system logs:

  • device descriptor read/64, error -71
  • Device not responding to setup address
  • unable to enumerate USB device

The modem does not appear in lsusb after the reboot.

The firmware upgrade log indicates that the process completed successfully at 100% before the reset command was issued.

Please help me to solve this issue.

Do you try to upgrade again?
Try to check USB cable, power and reload driver.

I tried all with different EVB, but the issue still exists.

How can I reinstall the FW or resolve the issue?

Actually, we didn’t see the issue before.
Is it possible to check the USB port in hardware side?
