Quectel MC60 Sleep mode questions

I have two questions about Sleep mode (using AT+QSCLK=1 and setting DTR to 1) on the MC60:

  1. Can Sleep mode be used in All-in-one configuration when the GNSS part is powered on? Documentation says the module wakes from Sleep if there is activity on the main UART, and since this UART is active when using the GNSS part in All-in-one mode, I wonder if I can still use Sleep on the GSM part or it is not possible because of the GNSS using the UART.

  2. What is “DRX”? The datahseet mentions DRX several times when talking about power consumption, and the Glossary says DRX is “Discontinuous Reception”. But I cannot find an explanation about what DRX exactly is and how to change it.

You can refer to the description in this document

I’ll check it out, thanks!

This explans what DRX is, but I still don’t know how to set it up on a MC60. I haven’t seen info about it on any of the application notes for the device.

DRX is the default idle state of the network or module

Yes, I understood that by reading the datasheet you linked above. What I mean is what is this DRX=5 or DRX=9 that is casually mentioned on the MC60 hardware datasheet? How to set the DRX to 5 or 9 and what is the implication?

5 or 9 indicates the paging interval in DRX state

And can it be changed by the application? How?

no,The paging period is determined by the network and you cannot change it
