Physical Sim missing or software bug?

Hello I’m using the EC25 firmware version - EC25AUFAR06A01M4G

I have had an issue of units developing the “sim-missing” error after various periods of time (some 1-2days, other 4-6months). I would like to determine if this is a phycisal issue (warping Sim card, bad connector etc) or an issue with the modem manager/software.

The reason I’m unsure is because for some units which are showing the “sim-missing” error they also show a imei number, while if i remove the sim card from a EC25 module and boot it up it shows “sim-missing” but dosn’t show an imei number.

So i guess my question is does the presence of the imei number and the the “sim-missing” error mean anything? Does retrieving the imie number prove that the sim can be communicated with and that the “sim-missing” error is indicative of something else?

Appreciate any thoughts regarding this.

Hi @D_pickledhands
IMEI(International Mobile Equipment Identity),It is a device identification code and has nothing to do with the SIM card.

Hello. I have the same problem. I´m using EC25AU, and sometimes (many times) I see SIM missing in the <mmcli -m #> output. I have tried resetting it in various ways, including mmcli, systemctl restart ModemManager, and sudo usb_modeswitch -R -v, but nothing has worked. Can this issue be solved logically?

Hello guys. Sim missing again and again. Does anybody have a word to help me on that? EC25AU.
