I am working on integrating an external eUICC (ST4SIM-300M) with a Quectel EC200U-CN module and require QESIM/LPA (eSIM Remote SIM Provisioning) support.
Below are the details of my hardware, firmware, AT test results, and requirements.
Module Information
- Model: EC200U-CN
- Firmware:
EC200UCNAAR03A09M08 - Power: Stable 3.8–4.2 V supply, module boots correctly
- SIM Interface: Using external eUICC (ST4SIM-300M) via standard SIM lines
- Host MCU: ESP32-C6
AT Command Test Log
1) Check modem & firmware
AT → OK
AT+QGMR → EC200UCNAAR03A09M08
2) eSIM / QESIM commands
AT+QESIM="lpa_enable"
+CME ERROR: 3
AT+QESIM="profile_brief"
+CME ERROR: 3
3) Basic SIM/Network tests
AT+CPIN? → +CPIN: READY
AT+CSQ → +CSQ: 31,99
All QESIM/LPA commands return +CME ERROR: 3, while SIM interface & RF operation are OK.
What I need from Quectel
- Does an eSIM/QESIM-enabled firmware exist for EC200U-CN that supports
AT+QESIM="eid"AT+QESIM="lpa_enable"AT+QESIM="download"AT+QESIM="profile_brief"- LPA/RSP operations?
- If yes, please provide the firmware package or instructions to download it.
- If not available, please confirm:
- Whether QESIM/LPA is not supported on EC200U-CN (current firmware),
- And which Quectel models fully support external eUICC (ST4SIM-300M).
- I can provide IMEI, serial number, full logs, hardware schematic, or run any diagnostic commands if needed.

The EC200UCNAA model is mainly targeted at the Chinese market. However, the eSIM function is not supported in the Chinese region. Therefore, you need to choose the EC200UEU model.
