LG290P error 0X108 during firmware update

Hello. When trying to update the firmware of my LG290P chip on a Mozihao board, I got the following error:

[00:07:35.501] Exceeding the maximum number of retry attempts! [00:07:35.505] Send firmware failed, error: 0x108 [00:07:35.507] qgnss_flash upgrade failed, return: [-1]

I haven’t found a similar case on the forum, nor any explanation in the firmware update guide :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I think I’ve bricked the chip because I had set the baud rate to 115200 during a previous setup, and I completely forgot to reset the settings to default… so now it’s impossible to revert. The connection to the chip seems to have failed. The red light is off, and the QGNSS is stuck on $PQTMVERNO*58
with no response from the module.

Another possible problem is that I’m using Ubuntu, I launched QGNSS with Wine, and the USB connection might have failed.

I’m afraid I’ve damaged my module :grimacing:, but maybe someone here will have a solution.

Hi @2M2C

Thank you for reaching out

Have you try to upgrade with QGNSS using PC ?

Best regards

Can you send me the log file regarding the firmware upgrade from the QGNSS?

you can send me through email
yong.huang@quectel.com

I’ll send it to you right away. As for the PC, I’ll try to find one. Just one more detail: I wanted to install firmware version LG290P03AAN02A01.

Hello. It’s fixed. As you advised, I tried flashing the firmware again (the same one I had tried to flash before) under Windows, and it worked. We’ll know for posterity that QGNSS + WINE + UBUNTU = bad idea.

Thank you.
