LC29H(BA) - $PQTMCFGRCVRMODE command fails (PAIR001,000,4 Error). Is my firmware too old?

Hello everyone,

I am an individual user working with an LC29H(BA) module, and I’m trying to configure it as an RTK Rover.

I have been reading the “LC29H&LC79H Series GNSS Protocol Specification V1.5” (dated 2025-09-12). This manual clearly states that the LC29H(BA) variant supports the $PQTMCFGRCVRMODE command (Section 2.3.14) to set the Rover mode.

However, when I try to send this command, I receive an error.

Here is my diagnostic information:

1. Module Firmware Version

I queried the module version with $PQTMVERNO*58 and received:

$PQTMVERNO,LC29HBANR11A02S_CSA4,2023/06/06,17:28:08*0A

This confirms I have an LC29H(BA) with firmware A02S from June 2023.

2. Command Sent

I sent the command to set Mode 1 (Rover) with the correct checksum (*2A):

$PQTMCFGRCVRMODE,W,1*2A

3. Error Received

The module immediately responded with this error:

$PAIR001,000,4*3F

I understand a Result=4 error means “Command parameter error”.

My Questions:

  1. Could this error be happening because my A02S firmware (from 2023) is simply too old and does not support the $PQTMCFGRCVRMODE command, even though the newer V1.5 protocol manual includes it for the (BA) variant?
  2. If my firmware is the problem, what is the correct procedure for an individual user to get the latest firmware file (.pkg or .bin) and the correct QGNSS tool to update this module?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Phúc Khang Nguyễn
I have try use this command $PQTMCFGRCVRMODE,W,1*2A in A02S, which is not success. Then use it in A06s, which works successfully.

Please try to upgrade firmare to solve this problem.
I have sent the latest firmware through email, please check it.

Best regards
