Hi @Jonathan.wang I received the firmware “RM551EGL00AAR01A03M8G” from other member and when I reflashed RM551EGL00AAR01A01M8G with the newer firmware, I noticed that if I write “mode_pref” to AUTO, the “mode_pref” reads WCMA, but if I write LTE it reads NONE.

It seemed like the “mode_pref” is stuck to WCMA and it does not register to the LTE/5G network…

In the release notes: “AT+QADBKEY was no longer supported.”

I am wondering how to enable ADB via USB now?

AT+QNWPREFCFG=“nr5g_disable_mode”
AT+QNWPREFCFG=“mode_pref”

Due to the latest firmware include security feature, ADB is disable, why did you want to enable ADB?

I was told by other members/users that version #3 (RM551EGL00AAR01A03M8G) has broken many features, achieves less performance and is not stable! Then I was recommended to use version #2 (RM551EGL00AAR01A02M8G) which is more stable. I reflashed with version #2 and it is working fine.

Is your team planning to release version #4 soon with fixes for the broken version #3 release?

Regarding Android Debug Bridge (ADB), this is an important debugging tool for advanced Android users running OpenWrt directly on RM551E-GL and this tool allows customization of apps to manage the modem and router such as beta Quecmanager versions.

I hope Quectel continues the commitment to foster innovation and support OpenWrt.

What are the concerns about security with ADB? Can this be re-enabled in future firmware versions.

@silvia @Jonathan.wang Regarding ADB, I am referring to enabling this debugging tool via USB only.

Currently, we don’t have plan to release new version.
The security feature will be added from RM551EGL00AAR01A03M8G.
