Hello,

I am currently using a BG95-M3 Zero module and attempted to flash new firmware using QFlash.

I used the following firmware package:

Firmware: QPY_OCPU_V0003_BG95M3_FW
Firehose file: prog_firehose_nand_mdm9x05.elf

QFlash shows a “PASS” message, which seems to indicate a successful flash. However, the firmware does not appear to change.

For example, when I run modem.run_cmd(“ATI”), I get the following output:

ERROR
Quectel
BG95-M3
Revision: BG95M3LAR02A03
ERROR

This looks like the QuecPy runtime is still present and the AT command interface is not working.

Could you please help me understand:

Why is the firmware not being applied even after QFlash shows “PASS”?
Is there an extra step required to properly activate the flashed firmware?
Is it possible that the firmware package is missing something required to replace QuecPy?

I’m using a Quectel BG95-M3 module with the following firmware:

AT+QGMR
BG95M3LAR02A03_A0.301.A0.301

My goal is to connect to Soracom LTE-M in Japan, which uses the NTT Docomo network. However, when I scan available networks using AT+COPS=?, only SoftBank appears. Docomo is not listed.

I suspect that this firmware version may not support Docomo, or necessary bands for Docomo may be missing or disabled.

Could you please confirm:

Is this firmware version certified or compatible with NTT Docomo for LTE-M (Cat M1) use?
If not, is there an updated or alternative firmware version that supports Docomo (especially for Soracom)?
If such firmware exists, could you provide a way to obtain and install it?
