Issue getting fix with L96-MM on custom PCB

Hello,

I am try to get a fix using the L96 on a custom PCB. After 30-40 minutes of open skies, no satellites are seen as indicated by the GSV message. I am using the internal antenna and have verified that RF_in and RF_out are connected.

Previously I was able to get a fix when using a custom PCB that I had machine assembled. Now, I am testing a different but similar design where I am soldering the modules by hand with a hot plate. I am curious if this has anything to do with the issue?

I can provide hardware design schematics on request. Any help would be appreciated,

Hi Noah,

It’ recommended to follow PCB layout suggestion to avoid some interference resource when you design.
Please pay attention to keepout area which is required for RF performance.
