Firmware update issue - reboot loop- RG255C-GL

Dear Support Team,

I am currently working with the RG255C-GL 5G RedCap modem. Below is the module information:

ATI
Quectel
RG255C-GL
Revision: RG255CGLABR01A04M4G

I attempted to upgrade the firmware to the new version:

RG255CGLABR01A05M4G

The upgrade process was completed and showed:

“Upgrade module successfully.”

However, after the reset, I began experiencing USB enumeration issues. The following errors appear in the system logs:

  • device descriptor read/64, error -71
  • Device not responding to setup address
  • unable to enumerate USB device

The modem does not appear in lsusb after the reboot, and I noticed the modem is stuck in a reboot loop

The firmware upgrade log indicates that the process completed successfully at 100% before the reset command was issued.

Please help me to solve this issue.

Dear @Jameel_Ali
Is it possible to capture debug log from your device?
We need log to analysis why device was reboot.

Hello @Silvia,

The issue has been resolved by forcing the modem into download mode and reflashing the firmware.

Thank you for your support
