Firmware Request .RM520N-GL

I have a Quectel RM520N-GL installed in a GL.iNet GL-X3000 (Spitz AX) router.

My current firmware is:

RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G_01.204.01.204

The modem is connected via PCIe/MHI and is using the mhi-pci-generic driver under Custom OpenWrt.

ModemManager reports:

  • Model: RM520N-GL

  • Firmware: RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G

  • PCI ID: 17CB:0308

  • Driver: mhi-pci-generic

  • ModemManager plugin: quectel

I understand that R03A04 is the PC1.5 firmware branch and I would like to remain on the R03A04/PC1.5 branch.

Could you please provide the latest firmware compatible with my exact RM520N-GL hardware, preferably the latest R03A04 release, together with the corresponding release notes/changelog?

In particular, could you confirm:

  1. The latest recommended firmware version for my current R03A04 modem.

  2. Whether there is an upgrade newer than 01.204.01.204 within the R03A04 / PC1.5 branch.

  3. Whether the firmware you provide is safe to flash using QFirehose 1.4.17 over PCIe/MHI on the GL-X3000.

  4. Whether there are any specific upgrade restrictions or prerequisites when upgrading from R03A04M4G_01.204.01.204.

  5. Whether upgrading to a newer R03A04 release affects or preserves PC1.5 operation.

I have seen newer R03A03 firmware such as RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_A0.304.A0.304, but I do not want to change branches unless Quectel confirms that it is officially compatible and recommended for my hardware.

Please provide the appropriate firmware package and release notes for my modem.
