Hi every one, I have EG21-GLGA, EG21-GGB, EG25-GGB modules in the MINIPCIE format.
I know from the articles below:
that the Direct To Cell technology available for EG21 and EG25 modules. I’m in a contact with my local mobile operator and they are able to support D2C in their SIM cards.
But, actually I don’t understand what to do / how to enable D2C on my modules.
So, my question is what I have to do to start with D2C?
There is specific command system for D2C?
On markets (for example mouser) I see that modules in D2C configuration have specific abbreviation like EG25GLGA-MINIPCIE-SD2C or EG21GGB-MINIPCIE-SD2C.
Is this feature (SD2C) related with the SW or HW part on the modules?
This SD2C feature is related mainly on the SW part on the module. However, I suggest you to further develop and testing using the D2C OC module such as EG21GGB-MINIPCIE-SD2C. This module will directly include the D2C firmware version.
Hi, Firdaus, many thanks, perfect. I will try to update my EG21-G modules asap.
Yep, I agree with you, the best case for testing - to find EG21GGB-MINIPCIE-SD2C with D2C OC, but, unfortunately, no chance… I’ve checked Mouser, Digikey and etc. for ordering this part number and everywhere I see (for the D2C FW) the same: Non-Stocked, Lead-Time 10-20 Weeks.
May I also ask you about FW with D2C capability for EG21GLGA-MINIPCIE (FW should named EG21GLGA-MINIPCIE-SD2C). I didn’t find it in the attached link, I’ve found only FW for EG21GLGD?
In the office I have EG21GLGAR07A03M1G_A0.300.A0.300 (the chip is EG21GLGA-128-SGNS installed in MINIPCIE board).
Unfortunately, the EG21GLGA and EG21GLGD are not compatible, and it is not possible to flash the EG21GLGD D2C firmware onto an EG21GLGA module.
Currently, the D2C feature is mainly supported on the EG21GGB and EG800Q modules. In addition, the EG21GLGD D2C firmware is still in the beta stage and has not yet been officially released.
