EG-25GL not switching to Verizon

I use a multi carrier sim, that works fine with EC-25AF modems, but when used in an EG-25GL modem, I am not able to set the carrier Verizon in manual mode.

AT+COPS=1,2,“311480” fails with
+CME ERROR: 30
AT+CEER
+CEER: 6,259

I can switch to AT&T just fine, but when setting to Verizon, connection drops and it goes back to AT&T.

Please help me understand the errors and why I cannot get the modem to switch to Verizon. Now if I take the sim to a EC25-AF modem, i can set it to Verizon. I confirmed the APN and username / password is correct.

For verizon SIM card, please run the quectel-CM

quectel-CM -n 3
to specify the CID with PDN#3.

If you see some log like this it means that it is not registerred.

Thank you for your reply. why do you say PDN#3 ? Is that not reserved for SOS?
my multi carrier sim from Soracom works on both Verizon and AT&T when used with a EC25-AF installed in the exact same hardware and software. When switching the module out with EG-25GL, it will connect in automatic mode with AT&T but when I set it to Manual Verizon as you see above in the log it does not connect.
But I know SIM card has this capability. Thank you

For Verizon SIM card, we have to set up data call with PDN#3 and so that we should run the quectel-CM

quectel-CM -n 3

But for AT&T we do not need to speicfy the PDN it would try the default PDN#1.

you may check if the EG25-GL has provider profiles enabled.
If yes, it would be best to deactivate provider profile selection and use the Generic profile when running a Soracom SIM.

The ‘,1,1,’ in front of the ROW_Generic means profile active & profile selected.
