Hello,
I’ve just got two Quectel EC25-E modules, both having firmware EC25EFAR08A07M4G
The AT+QADBKEY? command returns ERROR on both.
How do I enable ADB on these modems and get shell access?
Thank you!

Sometimes the module may return ERROR if the AT interface is not fully initialized.
Try restarting the modem with:
AT+CFUN=1,1
Wait for USB re-enumeration, then send a basic AT to confirm sync, and retry:
AT
ATI
AT+QADBKEY?
sometimes my module also responds with “ERROR” you can try using the lowercase command:
at+qadbkey?
but don’t ask me why (theoretically it should work regardless of whether it’s uppercase or lowercase) ![]()
Unfortunately, both uppercase and lowercase commands return error, and restarting the module also doesn’t work. I suspect that the ADB activation mechanism has been changed/removed from the firmware version that I have.
@Niki.Liu-Q could you please take a look when you have time? By the way, 恭喜发财 !
Dear @madprogrammer ,
Thank you for reaching out.
After looking through your issue, this might be a firmware build/configuration issue on the specific units. To help us verify and proceed, could you please provide:
Once we have these, we’ll check the exact build details and advise the next steps.
