I am facing an intermittent issue with the EC200U module in my current project. The problem is as follows:
The module returns CREG=0,2, indicating no network registration.
This happens even after performing reset through reset pin or power ON reset.
Removing and reinserting the SIM in the module does not solve the issue.
Here’s the detailed procedure and observation:
Remove the SIM from the EC200U module and insert it into a mobile phone.
Check network connectivity on the mobile — it works fine without any issue.
Remove the SIM from the mobile and reinsert it back into the EC200U module.
After reinserting the SIM into the module, the module starts working normally again.
After some days, the same issue (CREG=0,2) reoccurs.
My questions are:
Why is the module losing network registration periodically while the SIM works perfectly in a mobile phone?
What extra AT commands or network-related procedures is the mobile phone performing to keep the SIM registered correctly that the EC200U module might be missing?
How can I fix or prevent this issue permanently on the EC200U?
