Connecting EG21-GGB/EG25-GGB with eSIM (ST4SIM-200M_VFDFPN8) – Guidance Needed

@Bean.Wang-Q, @herbert.pan-Q
Hello,

I am working on a project where I need to connect the Quectel EG21-GGB/EG25-GGB module to an eSIM (ST4SIM-200M_VFDFPN8). I would appreciate guidance on the following aspects:

1. Hardware Connection

  • What are the recommended pin connections for interfacing the eSIM with the EG21-GGB/EG25-GGB?
  • Are there any specific pull-up/pull-down resistors or level shifters needed?
  • Does the module support 1.8V SIM card voltage directly, or are external components required?

2. Software Configuration

  • What AT commands are necessary to configure the module to use the eSIM?
  • How can I verify that the module recognizes the eSIM successfully?
  • Are there any firmware updates or patches required for compatibility with eSIM?

3. eSIM Profile Management

  • What is the process for downloading, activating, and switching eSIM profiles on this module?
  • Are there APIs or AT commands for managing eSIM profiles?

4. Debugging and Troubleshooting

  • What are the common issues faced during integration, and how can they be resolved?
  • Is there a specific log or diagnostic tool to monitor eSIM-related activity in the module?

I am also interested in any application notes, reference designs, or documentation related to eSIM integration with Quectel modules.

Thank you for your support

I have sent you the complete software and hardware manual, please refer to the manual first

Thank you for sending all the data in a single file.
I need clarification regarding the hardware aspect—should I simply replace the USIM with the eSIM, or is there a different approach? The file only explains how to install the driver but doesn’t address the hardware procedure.

If you are one of our enterprise users, I suggest you contact sales for technical support. In my experience, this eSIM needs to work with Quectel
