I also have a similar SIM card. I can successfully obtain the timer, but I cannot enter the PSM. I doubt the SIM card problem, I replaced another SIM card that supports PSM, I can successfully enter PSM
So it is a SIM card problem? But why does it work with a BG96 which has the older firmware version (BG96MAR02A07M1G_01.016.01.016)?
Funny thing is what I tried: I upgraded a modem with the older firmware BG96MAR02A07M1G_01.016.01.016 (PSM worked fine) via DFOTA to the newer one BG96MAR02A07M1G_01.102.01.102 (PSM doesn’t work). Then I downgraded the modem again to BG96MAR02A07M1G_01.016.01.016 and now it is the same behaviour as with the newer firmware BG96MAR02A07M1G_01.102.01.102. So PSM doesn’t work with the older firmware although it worked with the modem out of the factory with it? WTF. Can you make anything out of that?!?
This is inconceivable, I consult r&d, has nothing to do with module firmware
if you run
AT+CPSMS=1
then to query
AT+CEREG=4;+CEREG?
as so +CEREG: 4,5,“36E4”,“456416”,8,“00000100”,“00000110”
It indicates that the SIM card supports PSM mode
