BG95M5 Throughput tests

Dear all,

I am currently testing the BG95-M5 module and have observed that the upload and download throughputs are not symmetrical.

I understand that the operating mode is HD-FDD or HD-TDD, and that the frequency domain resources and MCS appear to be the same for both UL and DL.
During my throughput tests, I noticed that the UL transmission occurs continuously, whereas the DL transmission appears in bursts each time data is downloaded.

My initial assumption was that this behavior might be related to eDRX, but I haven’t found any documentation or official confirmation to support this.

Does anyone have a clear explanation for this difference?
I’m particularly interested in understanding the technical reasons behind this asymmetry and how it works at the system level.

Best regards,

The transmission power of the module is low, and the resources allocated by the base station for UL are usually continuous but narrowband to save terminal power consumption and avoid interference. The base station has high transmission power, and when users request data services, the data arrives in burst form, such as HTTP/TCP.
